About Rabbi Miller

Rabbi Mark S. Miller has been the spiritual leader of Temple Bat Yahm, Newport Beach, CA for over 33 years, leading the congregation from its small and humble beginnings to its position as one of the premier Reform Jewish synagogues in Orange County.

A distinguished scholar, author and educator, Rabbi Miller has been selected by the Daily Pilot newspaper as one of the most influential leaders in Orange County. He received his B.A. in Political Science from American University in Washington, D.C., his M.A. in Hebrew Letters, Rabbinic Ordination and Doctor of Divinity Degree from the Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati.

A lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs, Rabbi Miller delivered the invocation at the Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Cooperstown, N.Y. in 2003. He is also a devotee of Bob Dylan and challenges members of the congregation to stump him with questions about Rock and Roll! Rabbi Miller lives in Irvine, California with his wife Wendy, and they are blessed with five children.
