Bill Shane has served in executive and management positions for over 30 years. Joining Temple Bat Yahm in 2003, his background emphasizes finance and communications in both the corporate and non-profit sectors. As a volunteer, he has served in a number of significant leadership positions in Orange County, including President of the Jewish Federation of Orange County and President of the Jewish National Fund. Additionally, he has taught “Valuing Cultural Diversity” in the Business School at UC Irvine.

Bill and his wife Melanie live in Irvine with their four children. They have been extremely active in youth sports and Bill has coached baseball, basketball and soccer. He also has written and spoken extensively about excesses in the youth sports culture and in 2003 published “Hey Batter Batter”, a collection of original poems on baseball for children.
