A Message from
Cantor Jonathan Grant
This year’s Music Benefit Concert will be held on April 2nd at “Lucy’s Place” with the Peak Experience Jazz Ensemble! Named for Mike Peak’s wife of 26 years, “Lucy’s Place,” is the exquisite music room in the Peaks’ Nellie Gail Ranch home where many of the Peak Experience Jazz Ensemble’s shows are performed. It is designed as a relaxed, “house party” environment, and the band’s world-class music is often presented as a fundraising catalyst for various charities dear to the Peaks’ heart. Mike and Lucy enjoyed having us so much last year that they have graciously opened there home again for our 2017 TBY Music Benefit Concert!
I will be featured on the concert along with the Peak Experience Jazz Ensemble which is led by bassist, composer and arranger, Mike Peak. The band features Ron Kobayashi on piano, Paul Kreibich on drums, Andrea Miller, vocals, Ann Patterson on alto, tenor, soprano saxes, oboe and flute, and Rickey Woodard on tenor sax. And this year we are adding the outstanding trumpeter, Carl Saunders who has recorded or toured with Stan Kenton, Harry James, John Williams, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Paul Anka, Robert Goulet and many other acclaimed musical artists of the 20th Century.
In addition to Carl, the Peak Experience musicians have collectively performed with everyone from Ray Charles, BB King, Lou Rawles, Gladys Knight, Michael Buble, Diana Kral, Paul Anka, Gladys Knight, Barbara Morrison, Joe Pass, Alan Broadbent and many more.
I am beyond honored to have the opportunity to participate with this group as we present an unforgettable afternoon in support of music at TBY.
Our goal is to raise $40,000 towards music programming in the coming fiscal year. I hope you will join me in this effort and reward yourselves with an amazing concert at Lucy’s Place!
