TBY's vibrant youth programming combines social events, Jewish celebrations, and community service to foster a strong Jewish foundation. From Chanukah parties to Mystery Bus Trips, Shabbat dinners to Improv Comedy nights, and Chocolate Passover Seders to rock climbing, TBY's youth groups keep our kids connected.

Temple Bat Yahm is excited to be a new chapter of BBYO PWR (Pacific West Region). BBYO offers many opportunities for our Teens to be engaged in the greater Southern California Jewish community, and the Global BBYO community. You can find more information about BBYO on their website here!

Meet Mel - TBY's Director of Youth Engagement

We are delighted to introduce you to Melissa "Mel" Bordelon, TBY's Director of Youth Engagement! Mel graduated in 2020 from Emerson College in Boston with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. While attending Emerson, Mel served as President of her Hillel, among other leadership roles. In 2020, she spent a year in Israel on a Masa teaching fellowship, teaching English in an Israeli school. Growing up in Thousand Oaks at the Reform Jewish synagogue, Temple Adat Elohim, Mel was an active member of her youth group, AETY. Mel has experience as a Speech Language Pathologist Intern with Revere Public Schools in Massachusetts, and also worked with young adults with autism at the May Center. In addition to these diverse experiences, Mel brings eagerness, enthusiasm, and a commitment to Jewish community to her new role as our Director of Youth Engagement. We are thrilled to welcome her onto our team!
